Dear Sunland Parents,
Sunland’s current policy states that students are required to turn off their cell phones, smart watches, earbuds or other personal electronic gadgets as soon as they enter school grounds and store them in their backpacks. As a reminder, the purpose of this policy is to increase student focus in instruction and engagement with one another as the excessive use of cell phones can impact students' mental health and academic performance. Students may use their cellphones for the following reasons: official health needs, IEP’s, 504 Plans, or to meet school, district and/or student academic needs.
