Mr. Takara's Page

Hello! My name is Brian Takara and I am the 5th Grade Magnet teacher. I have been teaching in LAUSD since 2000 and joined Sunland Elementary School in 2003, teaching grades 1st–5th. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn every day. Our class focuses on project-based learning, collaboration, technology integration, and hands-on experiments that encourage students to think creatively. I want my students to leave class each day feeling challenged, successful, proud of their work, and at the end of the year, prepared for success in middle school.
